DICTIONARY OF SCRAPBOOKING
 
 
Alphas

A type of Font.

These are not true type fonts but alphabets where each letter is placed individually  to spell the words.

 Buttons

Buttons(sewing buttons),

Can be metal, cloth or plastic in appearence.

 Brads

Decorative pin heads

 Borders Decorative items to add round photos or pages.
 Elements Items used to embellish the page. eg Paper clips, ribbons, tape, pins, stickers, lace,  tags, studs, rivets etc.
 Frames

A frame surrounding a picture.

Can be of wood, metalic etc textured appearance

Journaling A short account of an event or a poem or saying inserted into pages as a record of an occassion.
Overlays

A transparent layer used over a harsh background to soften the appearance.

In digi scrapping this effect could be done with filters if effect is required

Pages The page that you created.  To PSP'ers it is the equivilent of a 'tag' but because these are made to add into an album it is therefore referred to as a Page. (not a webpage!)
Photo Mats   A border or matte edge around a photo or picture.
Between the photo/tube etc and the frame.

Complete page sets where you just insert journaling or photo, basically just 'plopping' a photo into place.  The name was invented by Susie Walker  
Vellum 

Translucent paper used as an overlay or to soften a background. 
Refers more to 'real' scrapping than digiscrapping but if that effect was needed then could be done with filters etc.
